400 GSM · 15% OFF This May

Your home deserves better than tired, flat, worn-out soft furnishings — and you don't need to call in an interior designer to fix it.

Arcadia Basketweave is our newest heavyweight upholstery fabric, and it's exactly the kind of game-changer your living room, dining room, or bedroom has been waiting for. At 400 GSM, it has the heft and structure of fabrics you'd find in premium furniture stores — at a price that doesn't require a second mortgage.

This month, it's 15% off. We've put together five achievable home refresh projects — from a 30-minute beginner job to a full statement headboard — so you can pick the one that fits your weekend, your budget, and your skill level.

Let's get into it.

The Projects

Five Ways to Transform Your Space

Ranked from quickest to most ambitious — pick the one that suits your weekend plans.

The Box Cushion: Where Arcadia Really Earns Its Keep

Box cushions — the kind with a neat, structured border strip — can be fiddly to get right. The seams need to stay sharp. The corners need to sit flush. Most lightweight fabrics simply won't behave.

At 400 GSM, Arcadia holds every fold in place. The texture of the weave conceals minor imperfections beautifully, so even if your seam allowance isn't millimetre-perfect, the finished cushion looks intentional and expensive.

Where to use it: Window seats, garden benches, dining banquettes, or a reading nook. Anywhere you want a plump, structured look that lasts.

Scatter Cushion Covers: The Quickest Room Refresh

There's a reason interior stylists lead with cushions — they change the whole feel of a room in minutes. Swap out tired covers for fresh Arcadia ones and your sofa goes from "needs replacing" to "actually, it looks great."

Simple envelope-back cushion covers are genuinely one of the most beginner-friendly sewing projects out there. No zips, no fuss. Just clean, straight seams and a heavyweight fabric that gives you that satisfying, structured finish every time.

Mix strategy: Combine two Arcadia colourways for a layered, high-end look. The texture variation between shades creates instant visual interest without needing patterns.

The Statement Headboard: Save Hundreds on the Biggest Impact

A fabric headboard is the single highest-impact bedroom upgrade you can make — and the cost difference between a shop-bought one and a DIY version is staggering. Bespoke fabric headboards regularly retail for £300–£600. With Arcadia, you're looking at a fraction of that, even for a kingsize.

The process is simpler than it looks: a sheet of plywood cut to shape, foam padding, and your Arcadia Basketweave pulled tight around the back with a staple gun. The heavyweight weave means no sagging, no bunching, and a finish that genuinely looks tailored.

On the 15% discount: A king-size headboard typically needs 2–3 metres of fabric. That saving pays for your foam. It's a no-brainer this month.

Roman Blinds: The Advanced Move That Changes Everything

If you're ready to level up, a Roman blind in Arcadia Basketweave is as impressive as it gets. The fabric's weight means it folds into those beautiful, structured horizontal pleats perfectly — light fabrics tend to collapse; Arcadia holds its shape exactly as it should.

Use a blind-making kit (widely available online) and take your time getting the tapes straight. The result is a window treatment that looks custom-ordered, priced like a weekend project.

Room tip: Arcadia's texture works especially well in rooms with natural light — the weave catches the light and adds dimension throughout the day. Think living rooms and dining rooms over bedrooms.

Where Arcadia Works Best

Not sure which room to start with? Here's where the fabric makes the biggest visual difference.

The Anchor Room

The living room is where Arcadia earns its keep daily. High-traffic seating, constant use, and the need to look polished at all times — this fabric handles all three. Scatter cushions and armchair covers give you maximum impact with minimum meterage.

The Big Statement

A complete set of reupholstered dining chairs in matching Arcadia is genuinely one of the most dramatic home transformations you can make. The basketweave texture gives the room a tailored, considered feel — like someone with excellent taste lives there.

The Quiet Luxury

A bedroom should feel restful and intentional. Arcadia in a neutral colourway delivers exactly that — the texture adds depth without noise. Combine a headboard project with two cushion covers and the room feels completely transformed for under £50 in fabric.

"At 400 GSM, Arcadia is a true heavyweight. It provides the structure needed for professional upholstery and ensures your cushions look plump and expensive. Quality you can literally feel."

Before You Buy

How Much Fabric Do You Actually Need?

01

Dining Chair Seats

Around 0.5m per standard seat pad. A set of four chairs = 2m total. Order a little extra for pattern alignment.

02

Box Cushions

Depends on your dimensions. A 50cm square x 10cm deep cushion takes roughly 1m when you include the gusset strip. Always measure twice.

03

Scatter Cushion Covers

Standard 45cm square covers need around 0.5m each. Buy in multiples for a cohesive look across your sofa.

04

King-Size Headboard

Typically 2–3m for a full-width king headboard with enough to wrap around the board and staple neatly at the back.

Common Questions

Everything You Wanted to Ask

Is Arcadia Basketweave suitable for total beginners?

Yes — especially for the simpler projects like cushion covers and drop-in seat pads. The fabric's weight actually makes it easier to handle than lightweight alternatives, as it doesn't slip around as much while you're cutting and sewing.

Does Arcadia work on a standard domestic sewing machine?

It does, but use a heavy-duty needle (size 16 or 18) and a strong polyester thread. Take it slow around tight corners and you'll have no issues. Many of our customers have used domestic machines on fabric far heavier than this.

How do I care for Arcadia once it's on my furniture?

Spot clean with a damp cloth for everyday marks. For deeper cleans, check the care label on your specific colourway. The basketweave texture means most surface debris simply brushes off — it's a very practical fabric day to day.

Can I use Arcadia outdoors?

Arcadia is designed as a premium indoor upholstery fabric. For outdoor cushions and garden furniture, we'd recommend our Portico Indoor/Outdoor fabric instead — it's specifically built for the elements with a 100,000 Martindale rating.

What colours does Arcadia come in?

We currently stock three colourways — a warm neutral, a cool grey, and a deeper tone. All three are designed to work beautifully as anchor fabrics in most UK interiors. Head to the product page to see swatches.

When does the 15% offer end?

The May launch discount ends at the close of May 2026. We can't guarantee the discount will return after that, so if you've been planning a project, now really is the best time to order your meterage.
