Gather Your Materials:
- Fabric: Two – 5″ x 5″ piece in Organic Christmas prints, tartan, or any fabric of your choice that captures the festive spirit.
- 4 Ounce Wadding: Another 5″x 5″ piece will be perfect.
- Sewing Machine: If you don’t have one, no worries! You can hand sew this project too.
- Scissors: Sharp ones, to ensure precise cuts.
Step-by-Step Coaster Guide:
- Prepping Your Fabric: Start by cutting two squares from your chosen fabric, each measuring 5.5″
- Wadding Squares: Using your scissors, cut a 5″ square from the wadding.
- Laying the Foundations: Place one of your fabric squares with the right side facing up.
- Stacking Up: Next, place the second fabric square on top, but this time with the right side facing down.
- Wadding Time: Now, place your two wadding squares on top, ensuring they are lined up evenly with the fabric squares.
- Sewing Begins: Using your sewing machine or hand sewing skills, sew around the edges of your coaster, but leave one side open. This gap will be essential for our next steps.
- Trimming: For a neater finish, trim the corners and any excess seam allowance. This step is optional but can add a professional touch to your coaster.
- The Reveal: Carefully turn your coaster inside out through the open side, and marvel at your creation taking shape!
- Finishing Touches: Sew up the open side, and voila, your Christmas coaster is ready to grace your table.
