Expert Tips for Sewing Textured Velvet

1. Do Not Iron: The specs explicitly say “Do Not Iron”. Ironing will crush the beautiful textured pile. Use a steamer or steam form the reverse side only.

2. Nap Direction: Like all velvets, this fabric has a “nap” (direction of the pile). Ensure all your curtain panels or sofa pieces are cut with the pile running the same direction to avoid color mismatches.

3. Sewing Machine: Because this is a Knitted construction, use a Ballpoint Needle (Size 90/14) to avoid snagging the knit backing. A Walking Foot is recommended to stop the layers sliding against each other.
