Expert Sewing Tips for Faux Suede

• Mind the Nap: Faux suede has a direction! Before cutting, brush the fabric to see which way the fibers lay smooth. Ensure all your pattern pieces face the same direction so your finished sofa or curtain doesn’t look like it has two different shades.

• Needle Choice: Use a Universal 90/14 or a Microtex needle. The fabric is dense, so a sharp needle prevents skipped stitches.

• Ironing: Use a Cool Iron only. Polyester melts under high heat. We recommend ironing on the reverse side or using a pressing cloth.
